The clients for this Soho residence started with one and a half lofts on two floors and rooftop rights.  The spaces were combined and opened both horizontally and vertically, exposing existing heavy timbers and cast iron capitals, and providing uninterrupted views of the surrounding neighborhood. The final product is a cohesive three-level loft opening onto an expansive rooftop deck via a sculptural blackened steel stair that is at the center of the design.  Oversized sliding glass doors at the roof level create a warm, daylit space in the heart of the loft and establish strong connections between the gardens above and the living spaces below.
